Our Journey
SWAPNOSHILON Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (SUS) began its journey in June 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic from Amla Sadarpur—a tiny locality of Kushtia district, Bangladesh. It was founded by a group of dedicated young professionals and passionate individuals who came together to support people affected by the coronavirus. Their early efforts focused on providing primary healthcare support, including distributing hand sanitizers, masks, and oxygen cylinders. One of their most appreciated initiatives was the "Free Mobile Bazar," which delivered essential daily commodities directly to people's doorsteps.
That small initiative has grown significantly, touching thousands of lives and transforming it into a well-rounded leading organization! Over time, under the progressive leadership, Swapnoshilon has introduced several flagship initiatives, including SAHOSHIKA, a women's entrepreneurship development program; ABH scholarship for meritorious students from poor family to pursue higher education; SWAPNOSHOVA, a tree plantation initiative across educational institutions; and TUKHOR TARUNNO, an interactive platform designed to inspire, skill-up and engage youth.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8), Swapnoshilon facilitates entrepreneurship, youth employment, and innovation, while advocating for safe, fair working conditions and the eradication of forced and child labour. In line with SDG 5, it prioritizes women's empowerment by advancing equal rights, expanding opportunities, and strengthening the participation of women and girls in decision-making processes. The organization also contributes to SDG 4 by ensuring equitable access to quality education and encouraging lifelong learning for all. At its core is the belief that every individual—regardless of their background—deserves the opportunity to dream and the support necessary to turn those dreams into reality, enabling them to shape their own futures and make meaningful contributions to society.
